Freedom Summer Conference and 45th Reunion
Through workshops and panel discussions, participants will explore and preserve the experiences of everyday citizens who made extraordinary contributions to the Civil Rights Movement. Special attention will be paid to how the citizens of Oxford, Ohio, and those who trained at the Western College for Women experienced and contributed to the 1964 Freedom Summer project. Conference participants will also examine the meaning of Freedom Summer in the context of current social and civic activism.
